1997 Christmas Letter

Merry Christmas
from Mark and Sandy Morris

To the tune of "The Beverly Hillbillies"

Now listen to my story about a man named Mark
Applied to U. of Houston and it wasn’t on a lark
Then in April his acceptance letter came
He’s going off to school to add some letters to his name

Credentials that is . . . Doctorate . . . a Ph.D.

Well, his wife Sandy was as thrilled as she could be
Her unemployment status wasn’t making her happy
She hustled off to Houston where the job market is fair
And she found herself employment just as soon as she got there

Banking that is . . . skyscrapers . . . business suits

The next thing you know Mark and Sandy bought a home
In a little suburb where there’s lots of room to roam
They’ve unpacked all the boxes and it looks like they will stay
For at least three years, until graduation day

(Mark’s, that is)

Christmas is the time to think of friends and family
We hope that each of you will spend the season merrily
And we’re sending cards out early so that we won’t be too late
To be the first to wish you joy in 1998

Happy New Year, y’all!
